[Kisei] Chang Hsu defends Kisei through earthquake.
In the sixth round, Chang Hsu 9P defeated Iyama Yuta 9P by 1.5 points and won the best of seven series 4:2. He defended the 35th Kisei title and the spirit of Baduk.
On the day the game was played, a massive 8.9 earthquake hit Japan; the game venue was in Yamanashi Prefecture, and it is about 500 kilometers away from Sendai, the closest city from the earthquake.
The Baduk Board was being shaken, and the two players had to stop playing to escape. However, they returned to the game when the earthquake became smaller. They eventually finished the game through the aftershocks.
On the same day, the 23th female Meijin title challenge match between Xie Yimin 5P and Mukai Chiaki 4P was being played in the Japanese Go Association located in Tokyo. The game has been still stopped.
We sincerely pray and hope for Japan.
