Chang Hsu 9P won the 30th NEC Cup. In the final match played on Mar. 5, he defeated Yamashita Keigo 9P by resignation after 190 moves.

This is the third NEC Cup title Chang Hsu holds; the last win was 2007. It is also his 34th title win of his career.

The NEC is a knockout tournament for the Japanese top 16 players including the seven big title holders. The basic time is 10 minutes and 1 period of 30 seconds for the overtime. The winner prize money is 10 Million JPY (approx. $ 121,500)
