In the 2nd round of the 54th Kuksu title challenge matches, Choi Chulhan 9P defeated Lee Changho 9P by resignation after 166 moves.

From the beginning, Choi Chulhan focused on building territories while Lee Changho made big influences on the center. However, Lee Changho turned the focus to territory as his original style. Till the middle game, the game was favorable for Lee Changho, so Choi Chulhan made his bid for victory by surviving his group on the lower side. He succeeded it, and the game was nip and tuck. Choi Chulhan played greater in the end game, and Lee Changho finally resigned.  
 
The game was played in the national museum of Korea, and the two players appreciated the museum in the lunch time.

The series is now tied at 1:1. The next match will be played on Jan. 25th.

The 54th Kuksu is sponsored by a publishing company, Dong-A Ilbo. The winner prize is 45,000,000 KRW (approx. 40,500 USD), and each player is given 3 hours and 5 periods of 1 minute for the overtime.
