Which Team Has the Best Teamwork?
The World Pair Go Association (president: Koichiro Matsuura) is holding Pair Go World Cup 2010 Hangzhou to mark the twentieth anniversary of pair Baduk from March 20th to March 23th. 16 teams from 12 countries of 6 continents will participate for this championship. While amateur pair Baduk championships has been hold in Japan every year, it is the first time to take place a pair Baduk championship for professionals.
Hiroko Hiroko, the director of WPGA, said that though Pair Go World Cup is an event for celebrating 20th an--niversary of pair Baduk, they consider of holding a professional pair Baduk tournament annually; Japan Pair Go Association runs WPGA in substance.
In pair Baduk game, the coordination between two players is important. The play order is B woman ¢®©¡ W woman ¢®©¡ B man ¢®©¡ W man, and there is a 3-point penalty for breaking the rule for one time. Each team is given 1 hour and 30 seconds' over time counting for once.
Total prize money is 10,800,000 Yen, and the championship prize is 4,000,000 Yen (1 pair). Since pair Baduk game is one of the events of Guangzhou Asian Game, this Pair Go World Cup will be a good chance for players to explore the strategy of each country.
