[Nongshim Cup] Round 9 – Japan made the balance
Takao Shinji 9P (W) of Japan had a second win defeating the Chinese rising star, Tuo Jia Xi 3P by resignation after 200 moves.
When White escaped by move 86, the game became favorable for White. One more point is Black's 101 move brought the group dead. If Black played 102th place instead of 101, Black could have lived; Kim Juho 9P commented.
Tuo Jia Xi had 4 wins last year Nongshim Cup and became the third player of China this year, but he could not win a game this year.
As Japan has two wins, the balance among Korea, China, and Japan set up; each team has two players left. The 12th Nongshim Cup gets more exciting!
Tomorrow there will be a match between Takao Shinji 9P and a Korean player (probably Choi Chulhan 9P) from 14:00 (Korean Standard Time). The game will be live broadcast on WBaduk.
Nongshim Cup is a ring contest where five representative players of Korea, China, and Japan participate to determine the winner of the country. Each player who wins continues to play opponents from the other two teams, alternating between them until there are no more opponents left. The champion prize is 200 million won (approx. 1,200,000 RMB), and each player is given 1 hour and 1 period of 60 seconds for over time.
The 12th Nongshim Cup is sponsored by managed Nongshim Co., Ltd., and managed by Korea Baduk Association.
