[Nongshim Cup] Round 8 - Japan has first win!
In round 8, Takao Shinji 9P (W) of Japan defeated Mok Jinsuk 9P (B) of Korea by resignation after 188 moves. It was a complicated game from the opening. In a big fight, the 59th move brought bad situation for Black, so Black made a pae to turn the tables in the middle game but failed and resigned.
Tomorrow there will be a match between Takao Shinji and a Chinese player from 14:00 (Korean Standard Time). The game will be live broadcast on WBaduk.
Nongshim Cup is a ring contest where five representative players of Korea, China, and Japan participate to determine the winner of the country. Each player who wins continues to play opponents from the other two teams, alternating between them until there are no more opponents left. The champion prize is 200 million won (approx. 1,200,000 RMB), and each player is given 1 hour and 1 period of 60 seconds for over time.
