2017 Korean National Baduk League Opens on April 15th!
2017 Korean National Baduk League, the largest national amateur Baduk Tournament, will be held from 6pm on April 15th at Value Hotel in Sejong si, Cheongju.
The opening ceremony is planned on the 16th, after which the eight months long tournament will set forth.
Since 2012, the National Baduk League celebrates its 6th edition, and 18 teams will participate as in previous year.
12 teams including last years' winner and runner up, and 6 new teams will fiercely compete for total 100,000,000KRW of prize money.
Official league will be divided into 2 parts: Dream League and Magic League, each consisted of nine teams. The seeds will be decided by drawing lots on the day of the opening ceremony.
The league is scheduled from April through September with 2~3 rounds in each month. Total of 765 games and 153 rounds will be held.
During the post season from October, the upper 8 teams(4 from Dream League and 4 from Magic League) from the official league will compete in a quarter final tournament to decide the champion.
In the team tournament(5 players per team) for the 2017 Korean National Baduk League, junior members and senior(or female) members will play the opponent team's corresponding members. Each game will be 30 minutes long with 3 times of 30 seconds overtime.
2017 Korean National Baduk League will award 100,000,000KRW of prize money in total: 10,000,000KRW for the champion of the official league, 7,000,000KRW for the runner up, and 5,000,000KRW for 3rd place, and 3,000,000KRW for 4th(2 teams each from Dream and Magic League). For the champion of the post season league, 20,000,000KRW will be awarded, 10,000,000KRW for runner up, 3,000,000 for two 3rd placed teams, and 1,000,000KRW for those who competed in the quarter final.
