After the second stage of the 1st European Pro Qualification sponsored by CEGO, the EGF nominated its first professional go player. Pavol Lisy, 19 year-old from Slovakia got the first pro certification with a perfect score of 4 wins out of 4.
The 3rd and 4th round of the pro qualification were held in Amsterdam the 05/29. This is a double knock-out tournament, which means that players are eliminated after 2 losses. Two games per round were broadcasted on WBaduk and one of the game was commented by Zhao Baolong 2P. Moreover the public could watch and study the games in a separated room.
The coming Saturday, the 1st pro qualification ceremony started with the commentary of the final game by the two players, Pavol Lisy and Cornel Burzo. Then Pavol Lisy was congratulated by Martin Stiassny, president of the EGF.

The final battle that will take place in Vienna the 06/21 and will award the 2nd and last pro of this year. Lukas Podpera, Cornel Burzo, Mateusz Surma, Ali Jabarin are the last four who can pretend to the title. Beside Cornel Burzo, who lost the final game against Pavol Lisy, the three of them are less than 21 years old. This shows that Europe have a bright future.
