If Korea Baduk has bad results, then people would blame not KBA but National Team.  

This is the words of You ChangHuk 9Dan's speech who is the director of Korea National Team. All players take responsibilities as a national team player in the future.

Korea and China has been competing for the last 10 years, but current situation is that Korea is behind a lot. Therefore KBA announced to have Korea Nationa Baduk Team and support them. You ChangHuk 9Dan is a director and Lee ChangHo and Lee SeDol 9Dan also support as a technical supporters


Training schedule is very tight. There is a training schedule from 10 am to 5 pm on every weekday. Below is the interview with You ChangHuk 9Dan a director of Korea National Baduk Team.


It has been a month since Korea National Baduk Team runs. How do you feel now about it?
This National Team is totally different with the temporary national Baduk team when we had for last Guangzhou Asian game. This is a permanent project for developing Korea Baduk system.

I believe that all team members are changing a lot and they cooperate well for us. Especially young player study really hard and Park JungHwan 9Dan also doing well. All high rankers show good example for young player and this make synergy. Now I feel that we would have to have this kind of system earlier.

You apply this director position, why?
All people knew this is a serious problem and they asked me of it several times. And it was exactly what I was thinking about and I implemented it with them.

Yu Bin 9Dan is a director of China National Team. It seems there is kind of competition between you and YuBin 9Dan. What do you think?
I don't think of it seriously. China has been running the National Team project and they earn its effect currently. We have to follow them now. .

As a director, what are your priorities?
First, we should improve our level. Especially young players should. Current situation is that high rankers have no burden as lower rankers can't overcome against them. All players should have burden and responsibilities not to be behind and go forward. I agree that there would a time for them to confront difficult times. I am here to help them when necessary.

How would you make a balance between freedom and compulsion?  
At the beginning, all players mentioned it was too much. But all should adapt to it and improve. I think time will help this and China takes more time than us.

Lee ChangHo 9Dan and Lee SeDol 9Dan are here to support. What their roles are?
Both of them are pretty busy with their personal things. They can't be here every day, instead they will be here when they are free to support our players. To overcome China's wave, we need to make all our powers together and make a synergy. Lee SeDol and Lee ChangHo 9Dan are here as they agree with our ideas.

How do you expect Baduk's future?
Seeing it only in Korea, it is not a bright as I had in 1990s. But China is expected to be in the center of world Baduk. China government support Baduk a lot and take care of it with special supports. If it happened, it would be happened in Europe and America. Then there would be many chances we can do together with China's movements.
