10 years ago, Korean players won so many world championships and took No.1 position without questions. But China turned it up recently and it is hard to see Korean world champion. For the first time in 18 years, there were no Korean players who won the world championships in 2013.

In this recession, Korea Baduk national team was organized to overcome it. Below is the interview with You ChangHuk director of Korea Baduk national team.

- You would feel burden to take a director of Korea Baduk national team.

I feel it now. But someone need to take this position to compete with China in the future.

- How do you train national players?

We have a training time from Monday to Friday 10am to 5pm. All players and coaches are together and study.

- How do you select players?

According to the Korea ranking system, 7 men 4 women were selected. And other 18 players were chosen by selection tournaments. This selection tournament is supposed to be held every quarter.

- It is new for every pro players, seems not easy for them.

Pro is a free occupation. Many pro players like to be free and study on their own. But we are here to train for overcoming China. We will control their schedule and they should be here to study if there is no special reason.

- The contents of training?

It is 50% playing games 50% group study. When there is an official game schedule, players should come after it to review together.

In fact, we haven't have strong basements even when we were top. It was focused on few top players while China has strong basements and gives more changes strong players come up.

- Why do we need this national system?
