The 1st International Children's ¡®Go is Art' Painting Contest is a cultural and art event hosted by the Mexican Youth Go Community. The contest features children's artworks where they will be free to express their vision, emotions and ideas about Go through painting. Its purpose is to make Go culture flourish among children and promote it through a creative exchange.

Eligibilities and works requirements

Category A – 6 to 8 years old
Category B – 9 to 12 years old
Category C – 13 to 15 years old

1. Free technique: watercolors, acrylic, oil paint, gouache, graffito, crayons, colored pencils, ink and more.
2. The size of the paintings must be a minimum of A4 and a maximum of 30x40cm.
3. Each contestant is allowed to submit as many as 3 original paintings.
4. Do not include any words or a brand name in the paintings.

Applicants should mail a package for each painting and send a confirmation e-mail.

Deadline for application e-mails and packages: June 24, 2011.

Please consider delivery periods to Mexico from your national postal service and the possibility of using express mail.

Finalists

Each category A, B and C will have three (3) top winners. They will be selected through a fair and impartial selection by the Panel of Judges. The Panel of Judges is responsible for the judgment of contestants' works and its decisions will be final. No appeal will be taken.
Contestants agree the host organization to have the rights of the entry paintings for activities and events promoting Go.

Announcement and prizes

The finalists of each category will be notified in July 2011 by e-mail and their paintings will be posted on the contest's website gallery.

   • Everyone who enters will get a certificate of achievement.
