2011 Barcelona Tournament - Feb. 19-20
Barcelona's baduk players are pretty excited these days. We are organizing the 29th Barcelona's tournament, that will take place in the Technical University of Barcelona on February 19th and 20th.
Last year's attendance broke all records, with 146 players, who came from several European countries, from Romania to UK. In 2011 organizers determination is to make a even bigger event, and more enjoyable, consolidating it as one of the top tournaments in South-West Europe.
The prizes are again very high. Top prize is 650 euro, 2nd 450 euro, 3rd 350 euro, 4th 200 euro and 5th 100 euro. And there will be baduk books for the players with most wins. Moreover the mild weather, with a temperature around 5¡§¡þC and 20¡§¡þC, and the delicious Spanish food, will attract lots of foreigner players. Last year tournament's bar served snacks, bred-rolls and all kind of beverages. Spanish wine, of course, was the most demanded one! People really enjoyed having a short rest in the bar between rounds.
This year Lee Young-sin 8p will be at the tournament commenting players' games. She is a Korean professional who is now one of the teachers of the Korean Baduk Center in Budapest (http://www.badukcenter.com/). She will also do some simultaneous games on Friday evening, before the tournament.
