London Open and Oxford against Cambridge
The London Open Go Congress is the largest Go event held in the UK. It has been run every year at the end of December or start of January every year for over 35 years.
The event is truly international in character, regularly attracting over 100 players from all over Europe: we also are pleased to welcome guests from the far East (Korea, Japan, China) who are working or studying in Europe.
The event consists of the main tournament which consists of 7 games, with time limits of 90 minutes each. In addition we have a few additional tournaments: a lightning tournament (time limits 12 minutes for each person, and a Pair Go tournament where each team consists of 2 players who play alternately
We also try to invite a professional or strong amateur to attend the tournament to give lectures and game analysis, and this year we are pleased to welcome a strong Korean player living in France, In-Seong Hwang.
And finally we welcome, for the first time, an Oxford against Cambridge match kindly sponsored by WBaduk.
