[KPI Cup] Three friends advanced to the quarter-final
Park Younghoon, Choi Chulhan 9P, and Won Sungjin 9P advanced to the quarter-final of the 6th Korean Prices Information Cup Championship without a defeat. The three advanced players are close friends and born in the same year.
The Korean Prices Information Cup is a rapid-game Korean professional tournament. It allows each player 10 minutes and 40 seconds' overtime counting for 3 times. The championship prize is 30 million Won (about $26,881), and the runner-up prize is 10 million Won (about $8,960)
The Korean Prices Information Cup uses double elimination format. The format is for pairing players to play games in tournaments. Unlike a single knockout, players are eliminated after losing two games. Therefore, in a league, 2 players advance to the quarter-final among 4 players.
