Passover 2010 Baduk Tournament
As you could feel the Spring in the air, the PassOver Tournament of Israel has started. It took place in the community center in Rosh Haayin for one day on March 31st, in the vacation of the Jewish holiday PassOver which commemorates the ancient story where the Israelites were freed from slavery in Egypt.
The tournament consisted of 5 rounds in the McMahon system.
14 players from different places, different ages and different levels participated, and many others came to observe. Among the players were many that were inexperienced at real-life Baduk tournaments, and yet the average level has passed the Dan barrier.
As for the results, the first place was taken by Ofer Zivony with a perfect score of 5 wins. The second and the third place were taken by Guy and Lior respectively who were new-comers that have played almost only online before.
All in all, the event was very exciting, and it seems that Israel is getting stronger each year. We hope to have more participants next year.
