In the LG Cup preliminary round 3, Suzuki Ayumi 5P (Born in 1983) amazed people again by winning Moon Myunggeun 9P. In the preliminary round 2, she surprised people by defeating one of the strongest players, Gu Ling Yi 5P (Gu Ling Yi 5P won against Lee Changho 9P, and will face Gu Li 9P in the Quarter-Final of the 8th Chunlan Cup)

Suzuki Ayumi started playing Baduk when she was 5 years old by her father's suggestion, and she used to solve life and death problems as a hobby. Her favorite players are Lee Changho 9P and Lin Haifeng 9P.

Other women players are also having good results in LG Cup. Kim Miri 1P, Park Jieun 9P, and  Lui Nai Wei 9P advanced to the preliminary round 4.
