In the final preliminary round of the 38th Myeongin Championship, Lee sedol 9P defeated Park Junghwan7P. With this, he won 17 straight games. In the interview, Lee sedol said that he was just lucky. However people think it is not just luck since Park Junghwan is a quite strong player; Park Junghwan is holding two Korean titles. Lee sedol is going to leave to Tokyo in Japan to participate in Fujitsu Cup.

The 38th High1 Resort Cup Myeongin Championship is the biggest tournament in Korea. The total scale is 800 million Won (about $ 711,743) and first prize is 100 million Won ($ 88,967). The 37th semi-finalists are seeded (Lee Changho 9P, Won Sungjin 9P, Hong Sungji 8P, Kim Seungjae 3P)
