Main Tournament:
There are four players who is leading the main tournament; Kim Youngsam 7D Korea, Thomas Debarre 6D France, Taranu Catalin 7D Romania, and Ondrej Silt 6D Czech. The all four players are special.
Kim Youngsam defeated the Ukraine rising star Artem Kachanovskyi 7D, another Korean 7D Jeon Sangyoon, and the latest Kido cup winner Pal Balogh 6D. Thomas Debarre who has all the cheers of French Baduk Players is another rising star of Europe. If we can say that Artem, born in 1992, is the hope of Ukraine, All French Baduk players are standing behind of Thomas, born in 1993. Catalin is the most famous and classical player in Europe. In fact, he is 5dan professional player from Japanese Go Association. As you may guess he is one of the very possible candidates to win this tournament. Ondrej Silt, the best player of Czech Republic, has defeated the two Russian best players, Alexandre 7D and Ilja 7D.
Many other 7D players who have lost a game such as Sangyoun, Artem, Christian Pop, and Ilja Shikshin are still aiming to over the four leaders.
Pair Go:
A very strong and balanced Czech team Jan samara 5D & Rita Pocsai 4D won the 2011 Pair Go championship! It is surprise that the team with Pro players didn't even get the final. classically, the Pro player's team had good result for instance last year champion Mok jinseok 9P & Klara Zaloudkava 3d and year before Zhang Zhengping.
