Lee Sedol 9P defeated Gu Li 9P by resignation after 207 moves in round 5 and won the best of five series, 3-2. It is his second BC Card win; he is the last year champion.

According to Choi Chulhan 9P, Lee Sedol (B) started a fight by cutting (move 17), but the result was not good for him by captured two important stones (B13, 15). Fortunately, Black played a brilliant move, B37, and it made him to be able to Hane, B47. The situation turned better for Lee. After that, Gu Li made some mistakes on the upper side; the game became totally favorable for Lee. However, it did not last long because Gu Li caught up again. It was a close game till the ending game, and Lee finally won after many turnovers.
