The top two players of China, Gu Li 9P and Kong Jie 9P, were eliminated from the 25th Chinese Chunwon(Tianyuan) title challenger decision tournament round 1. On the other hands, 5 players born after 1990 advanced to the quarter finals. The young players did well again in the quarter finals; three of them advanced to the semi finals.

It seems that the new generation of China is rising up fast.

There is another surprise in the 25th Chinese Chunwon. The old man, Yu Bin 9P defeated Xie He 7P and advanced to the semi finals. Yu Bin was a supervisor of the last Chinese Olympic team.
