The title holder Chang Hsu 9P defeated Iyama Yuta 9P in the second round of the 35th Kisei. However, soon he gained another loss in the next match, round 3. Therefore Iyama Yuta is leading the best of seven series 2:1.
The kisei is one of the biggest tournaments. It is established in 1976, and the winner prize is ¥45,000,000 (approx. $550,000). The each player is given 8 hours and 10 periods of 60 seconds for the over time.
