[Kisei] Title Challenge Match 1
The 35th Kisei title challenge match has been started. The title holder is Chang Hsu 9P, and the challenger is Iyama Yuta 9P. In the first match of the best of seven series, Iyama Yuta defeated Chang Hsu by resignation after 207 moves.
As the basic time is 8 hours, it was a long game. On the first day of the match, the game was stopped at move 56. The next day, they made a fight on the lower side and took so much time on that. Till move 82, the two players both spent more than 5 hours.
The kisei is one of the biggest tournaments. It is established in 1976, and the winner prize is ¥45,000,000 (approx. $550,000). The each player is given 8 hours and 10 periods of 60 seconds for the over time.
The next match is on Jan. 26-27, and it will be live broadcast on WBaduk.
