As people expected, Japan chose Hane Naoki 9P who blocked Xie He's 5 consecutive wins last year. Hane Naoki played well, so the game was favorable for him almost till the ending. However he made a mistake on 157 move, and Xie He caught the chance to turn the tables by playing 160 move; he took out 15 points.
Xie He 7P has 4 consecutive wins.
The next player is Mok Jinsuk 9P of Korea. The game will be played on Dec. 1, 14:00 (Korean Standard Time), and it will be live broadcast on WBaduk.
Nongshim Cup is a ring contest where five representative players of Korea, China, and Japan participate to determine the winner of the country. Each player who wins continues to play opponents from the other two teams, alternating between them until there are no more opponents left. The champion prize is 200 million won (approx. 1,200,000 RMB), and each player is given 1 hour and 1 period of 60 seconds for over time.
