[Kido Cup] 2nd Kido Cup held in Germany with Korean
The 2nd Kido cup was held in Hamburg, Germany from Sep. 18th to Sep. 19th, 2010. Kido Cup is one of the biggest tournaments in Europe; 240 players participated in this year, and the total prize money size is quite big as the first place prize money is 1000 ¡Ë©¡. It also had varied programs. 8 Korean professional players joined and had some events with the participants.
Csaba Mero 6D from Hungary won the top group tournament, and Benjaminn Teuber 6D from Germany took the second place.
Kido Cup has a little different form; it is a mixed version of European and Korean tournament models. It is divided by three tournaments and four groups. Top and Children groups have their own competitions while Lady and Youth groups play in the main tournament with ordinary players. Although ladies and youth players take part in the main tournament, they get special prizes by the ratings of their own groups.
Kido Cup was instituted in 2009 sponsored by a Korean company, Kido Industrial Co., Ltd.
