In the 29th Female Honinbo challenger decision match, Mukai Chiaki 4P defeated Umezawa Yukari 5P by resignation and became the title challenger. Mukai Chiaki will have a best of five match with the previous year's title holder, Xie Yimin 5P. The first round of the title match is on Oct. 6.
