Globalization of Baduk
Pro Baduk Player, who majored in English "already published 5 English Baduk books"
"There's no retirement system in pro Baduk, but I decided to retire 5 years ago. Others usually become the coach or manager, but I decided to commit myself to Baduk's globalization instead".
Professor Nam's life is the intersection of Baduk and English. She became the professional player at 15 in 1990, but also entered the university afterwards (Seoul National University English Major). There, she published lots of valuable papers such as 'unifying Baduk rules', 'Selection of Olymic Sports', and 'International Scale Ranking System'.
[Baduk Rule Book] - published by professor Nam
Professor Nam is always excited to see his students who are abroad. She's been teaching many students abroad in countries such as Brazil, Canada, France, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Chinese Taipei.
She joined Myongji University in 2003 as a professor and will published the book about 'Baduk Sociology' next year.
Her major claim is that 'not everyone needs to follow the fixed life'. In case of Baduk, calculation is the major part, but exceptional intuition is necessary to be the best player. Therefore, it's important to find the one's own way to live.
