Lee-Jae Sung, 2nd place in the World Baduk Amateur Championship
The 40th World Baduk Amateur Championship was held from June 2nd to the 5th at the Shimane Civic Center, Shimane Prefecture, Japan. The Korean Representative Lee-Jae Sung won the five games in a row until round 5, but lost against the Chinese Representative ¡®Wang-Chen¡¯ by 0.5 ending the competition as the 2nd place (7 wins 1 lose)
Meanwhile, the Chinese Representative player ¡®Wang-Chen¡¯ won the championship (8 wins)
3rd place – Nai-San Chan (Hong Kong) / 4th place – Albert Yen (US)
The World Baduk Amateur Championship was firstly hold in Tokyo, and China has the record of the biggest wins (22), Japan (8), Korea (7), Chinese Taipei (2), Hong Kong (1)
59 different countries¡¯ Representatives participated in this competition for this year, and it followed the official rules of international go federation (IGF) Round 8 Swiss League.
The 40th World Baduk Amateur Championship was hosted by International Go Federation (IGF) and Japan Go Association (JGA), and got the special support from Fuji-tsusa.
