Lee ChangHo 9Dan got a wildcard from sponsor of SamSung Cup this year. It is 7th time for Lee ChangHo 9Dan to be in the final in SamSung Cup.
Sponsor of SamSung Cup chose Lee ChangHo 9Dan in 2014 as they chose him in 2011. Sponsor announced that we decided to give a wildcard to Lee ChangHo 9Dan hoping him to get over China's good spirit in world championship. And we believe that he would show his great level and also name value which would boost in advertising SamSung Cup.
Lee ChangHo 9Dan has won this SamSung Cup 3 times in a row from 1997 and came up second in 2005 and 2006. So far, Lee ChangHo 9Dan has 55wins 22loses winning rate is 71.43%.
Lee ChangHo 9Dan is second in history of SamSung Cup to win. Lee SeDol 9Dan is No.1 as he has won 4 times in SamSung Cup. But Lee Changho 9Dan has same results with Lee SeDol 9Dan with number of times to be in the final.
2014 SamSung Cup is going to be held in Chingdao China from 26th ~ 28th of August. Before this, the preliminary league would be held from 1st of August in Korea. Total 19 tickets from preliminary league are waiting for the players.
From last year, world league has been opened and total 12 players will attend this year for 1 ticket. 3 players from USA, 2 players from Netherlands, 1 player each from Russia, Czech, Maxico, South Africa, Malaysia, Singapore, Taipei. Last year, Eric H. Lui from USA got a ticket and compete in the final of SamSung Cup. List
