The camp place ¡®Le Seriguet'

On a lovely sunny day, I went to French Go camp in Belmont-sur-Rance with my wife.
It has decided by invitation from French Go Federation. As I plan to become one of the official teachers in France, it was a great opportunity for me to see lots of French Baduk players.

On the first day, we arrived very late, however French Go federation president Frederic and other earlier arrivers welcome us and kindly wait for us to have dinner together. I had a nice chat with them and even though we had a dinner already, we couldn't avoid the delicious local food! France is a real country for thousand of delicious food!

And it's the overview of the city Belmont-sur-Rance

The city Belmont-sur-Rance is located in the middle of nowhere. It's very peaceful and feels fresh.
In the morning when I looked over the window of my room, I was astonished because I can see the overview of the city just through the window! It was more beautiful than I expected. My wife and I looked over it for a long time.

Playing Baduk in the nature

The camp place is well adapted to Baduk players. This place has been used as this yearly event for more than 10 years. Most of people play Baduk at the outside. It seems they know how to enjoy Baduk and nature at the same time. Even in the night, there were various lights make people keep playing their games.

I made two lectures during the day. I chose my favorite lecture topics ¡®1-2-3 reading' and ¡®6-7-8 theory' to teach. These two topics are appearing lots of times in real games, easy to apply and very fun if you actually make it. I always believe that ¡®motivating people' is the best way to teach Baduk. If I show them how to enjoy this game more, people will put more effort on Baduk, and that makes people improve. I am sure these two topics make people enjoy Baduk more.

Let's study Baduk!

Unfortunately, I couldn't stay long because I already had a plan to visit to Korea for preparing the project ¡®Spreading Baduk among European Youth'. Even though I stayed only couple of days in this camp, I fully enjoyed and exchanged good memories with French Baduk players. I already knew that French Baduk players are using Baduk for people's connection. And yes, I am connected with them through Baduk indeed!
