May in Singapore - Mi-kyeong Jo 8P
It is very hot in Singapore. But when I go somewhere in door, there is strong air-conditioner. I like hot country but Singapore is too hot. Anyway I amused to the weather now so I wear long jean and long sleeves almost every day. One day after finish teaching junior beginner class, one boy came to me and gave me a special card. It was a thank you card and he made it by himself. I was so touched. It was the first time I get g card from my student. I can never forget it. It is very convenient to travel because Singapore is so small. From one end to the other end of Singapore, it only takes a bit more than an hour. One of the schools that I am teaching is Raffles junior college. It is quite a good school in Singapore. There are around 10 students. 5 are beginners and 5 are kayo or Dan players. They are very serious and I was surprised. Even beginners take 2 hours to play one game. Among the 10 students, only 5students are Singaporean and the rest are from overseas. There are many different races. Chinese, Malay, Indian, Korean, Vietnam, Philippines. Among my students there are some foreigners.
Korean festival was held in May. There were some events such as soccer, magic show, singing contest and Baduk competition. I participated as a judge in the Baduk competition. Even though not many people join the competition, it was fun and meaningful. I'm a judge in all Singapore Go competition. After finishing the game, I will go and count for them. If problems arise, I will make the final decision.
There was one competition call the Shoutan cup. It is only open to primary school students. I saw more than 400 students playing. It was quite impressive.
