22nd Pair Go Event Sunday
Young participants could enjoy participating in the pair event because Open Championship was conducted as a handicap tournament. The right picture is about the youngest participants in their stylish dresses, who were always the centre of attention during the event.

The event consisted of two parts. British Championship was bsed on rules such as even games, colour chosen by nigiri, and Komi 6.5 points. Open Championship was a handicap tournament as mentioned above.
Participants cannot be disappointed even if they lose a game. A wide range of events like jigsaw puzzles, general knowledge quizzes increased the pleasure of participants. Furthermore, the room to play games was connected to outdoors garden, where family members of competitors not playing games could have a picnic and play about in the open air.
English-language versions of Buduk books donated by Korea Amateur Baduk Association (KABA) were presented to participants in the Event. All of them greatly appreciated the KABA's donation, and showed a keen interest in and genuine respect for Korean Baduk making time to read the books at break time.
Natasha Regan and Matthew Cocke retained the British Pair Go Champions title for a third year. They won the top group of the 22nd Pair Go Championships beating Jenny Radcliffe and Francis Roads, the organiser, in the final. Winning the fighting spirit prize were Jackie Chai and John Johnstone.
An interesting feature of the Event was that prizewinners chose their additional prizes in person. It made other participants to wonder which prizes were going to be selected.
A couple won the best dresser of the day. They were selected with unanimous applause. Both were praised for their coordination of the colors of their suite; a wife in white dress with a white hat, a husband in black suite with a white handkerchief.

The event began at 10 o'clock in the morning and closed about 30 minutes past 5 pm. We happily parted pledging to meet again next year.
